ECHO not

Project ECHO is a collaborative initiative of education and medical care management through tele-tutorial and distance education designed to improve patient care and generate workforce multiplication in medical care.

The main objective of this project is to share the knowledge of specialists through medical education tele-clinics, which continues to exponentially increase the ability of staff to provide specialized care by applying best practices. The heart of the ECHO model is the exchange of knowledge led by teams of experts who use multiple web-conference points to carry out virtual clinics with community medical personnel.

We currently have specialized clinics in the following branches:

OPEN CLINICS

  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Endocrinology
  • Internal Medicine

We are close to opening new clinics specialized in:

  • Trauma
  • Gastroenterology
  • Tropical diseases

At present, we have 112 health centers connected to the north, center, and south of Ecuador, allowing the generation of synergy and collaborative work among the medical community throughout the country.

The participating institutions are:

  • Universidad Tecnológica Equinoccial
  • Universidad Nacional del Chimborazo
  • Universidad Católica de Cuenca
  • Universidad Técnica del Norte
